So I thoght of 10 things that describe who I am, what is important to me, or what my goals are in my life. I thought it was a good idea for me to brainstorm and see what has a major impact in my life... So.. here it goes!
1. Sensitive. I think sensitivity describes me the best. I try to be as tough as possible but I'm not. I'm really this fragile little person inside that hides my feelings once I get hurt. One of the things I hate the most is arguing with people because I am sensitive. I often times avoid conflict, because its not worth it in the long run.For some reason I am also sensitive to noise. When people raise their voice, it scares the ba-jesus out of me... I'm not saying that there are not things that I will fight for. I will fight for the things I believe in, but I only get in a arguement when it is well worth it.
2. Grudges. Along with my sensitivity, when people hit me the wrong way, I can hold a grudge. Once something has been said or done, you can never take it back. I tend to only hold grudges to the people I care the most about. This is because if they are the ones hurting me, and I care about them, they arent going to get away with it that easily.
3. Sports! I LOVE SPORTS! Ok... I love to play sports, not so much watching them. In my childhood years I played soccer for 8 years, softball for 6, volleyball for 3, and basketball for 2. I won many awards for all sports (Best serve, MVP, best defensive player blah blah blah .. I honestly wish I still played some of them today. My favorite sport to probably play today is softball. I have a true passion for the game of baseball (Think it runs in the August blood).. But all in all... Watching sports and playing sports are two different things. WAIT! Let me be even more specific... Watching a sporting event LIVE is way better than watching it on TV. Big difference!!!!!! But, if I had to choose my favorite sport to watch it is probably basketball (Love my Kobe!)
4. Travel. Travelling is probably one of my biggest goals in life (besides the family and all that). There are many places that I want to travel to in my lifetime. The places I would like to visit the most are Italy, Sicily, Spain, Egypt, Ghana, England, Japan, Austrailia, Brazil, Chile, Fiji, and Thailand. These places are definitely on my bucket list, and I am going to try my hardest to travel the world. For the times that I have travelled I have learned so much. I love learning about new cultures and new ways of living. I think that is honestly the reason African Studies becam my major. I fell in love with different cultures, traditions and beliefs. Africa definitely has a special place in my heart.
5. Family. Family is EVERYTHING! I have learned throughout my life that no one is better than family. They are the ones that know you the best, and will always be there for you. I try to see my family at least once a week (all my grandparents.) Grandparents are really a special gift. I was one lucky child having all five of my grandmothers alive. (2 grandmas, 2 great grandmas, and one great great grandma.) As a child, my two Great Grandmothers took care of me while my parents went to work. I am truly lucky and blessed that I was able to spend my childhood with them everyday. I have so many memories that will never be forgotten. I have really learned many things from them, and realized that grandparents are a true gift!
6. Money. Money is just a form of curency, but plays a major role on the planet. It is something that everyone wants, and works hard for. Many people think that money brings a person happiness... But it takes more than just money... It takes love, and money cannot buy love (well.. true love at least!) Money is something that I want. I want to be successful, and live a comfortable life. I want my children to be able to live comfortably and do all the things that they enjoy. Struggling to make ends meet is not the American Dream nor mine. I hope someday that I can find a passion that I have, or a career that would make me happy while also living a successful life!
7. Exercise. I HATE IT, BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! So I'm a little obsessed with working out. I like to stay active. Sitting around the house all day and watching tv does not interest me. Dont get me wrong, I have my favorite TV shows that I must watch on a weekly basis, but I also like to get away from the house. I have always been pretty active with sports, exercise and just anything outdoors (or outside the house!) I like exercise for entertainment, but also for the health benefits. Once I get in the groove with a routine for exercise, I cannot stop! Right now I'm doing Insanity Beachbody program and I LOVE it!!!! I cant imagine life without it.
8. Hopeless Romantic. There, I said it!! Haha. My grandma tells me weekly that I should write my own romance novel because I'm the biggest hopeless romantic on the planet. She's right, too. I call my grandma up everyday, and everyday I have something new to fantasize about. Then I tell her the perfect way that could happen and then she rolls her eyes and laughs at the ideas that I come up with. I actually think that if I did write the novel it would be quite good! It would be pretty sappy, but good! HA!!
9. Food. I love my food. Sad to say, but I live to eat, not eat to live. I do exercise so at least I have that goin on... But I love good, tasty food! I truly believe my grandparents are the best cooks on the planet. ( I think its the Italian in them.) They make the BEST pasta with sugo (sauce). I think I could eat it every single day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I love going out to eat though. It's a hobby of mine. I have my favorite restaurants, but I also like to go to new places to check it out.
10. LOVE. All you need is LOVE! Through my twenty four years of existence, it is clear that the one thing that everyone wants is to be loved. It is the greatest feeling in the world. To love, and be loved thats all you need. I am often told by my family that I have the biggest heart. I do have so much love to give for those people in my life. My family means everything to me and they have a big piece of my heart...
My mom has taught me many things about love... One, there are different types of love. Two, there are different ways of showing love... 3. There is no limit with love..4. Embrace the love! 5. Never hold back the love that you feel for another.

9 deadly words used by women
I saw this post on Facebook and I laughed to myself. What makes me laugh even harder is that men do not understand these 9 words, until they are used on them. As men find women complicated, I find these words normal, and not complicated. It's natural. It's not like we are taught, "Say Fine when you really arent fine", or instead of saying "Fuck you, say whatever." No, instead this occurs naturally. Reading these seems hilarious because we are complicated and hard to understand. So looking from a mans point of view with "Fine", or "Whatever", or my personal favorite, "Go Ahead", seems like it should be what is being told. But instead we really mean the OPPOSITE. So for all the men out there, now that you have read the 9 deadly words used by women on facebook or emails, at least you know now and can save yourself from bad situations.
#1- Fine... Fine never means fine. It means the OPPOSITE. It's just a easier way to end the discussion.
#2- Five Minutes... I think this word works for both genders... Females, yes we take a long time to get ready, we are hurrying, but we want to look pretty when we go out. Guys.. Dont give me hell about using five minutes because it is used by men ALL THE TIME!!! For example, their football games. "Oh five more minutes and it'll be over."....NOT!!! The clock might say there is five minutes left, but it lasts for twenty more minutes! This word/phrase can be deadly to both genders..
#3- Nothing.... The word "nothing" doesnt really exist. There is always something on our mind. I have learned that men can sit in a room listening to music and not be thinking about a thing. SAY WHAT??? I am always thinking about something. But, in this case, when a woman says nothing is wrong, most of the time something is on her mind. I guess when we say "nothing", we just wanna make sure you really want to know before we start the conversation.
#4- Go Ahead... This is my favorite. This really means I DARE YOU! And many men do not get this phrase until it's used on them. Sure, they can go ahead and do whatever they want, but they will be hearing about it for sure!!! So, go ahead, I DARE YOU! This would be at the top of my 9 deadly words...
#5-Loud Sigh.... DUHH!!!! If anyone sighs its not usually good. Basically, it's saying, you are doing it wrong! It's just our nicer way than stepping in and making you angry because we are not letting you figure out the problem. I dont think this is really a deadly word. This would be at the end of my list.
#6- That's Okay.... This one is a tricky one. It depends on the situation. But I will tell you this, if you forget that it is a holiday, and a woman says "That's okay", you are in deep shit! Stay on top of your shit and a man wouldn't be in this situation! This would definitely be on the 9 Deadly Words.
#7- Thanks... This word can be used in a positive and negative way... But if a man treats a woman right, he shouldnt ever get the sarcastic thanks! But this would not be at the top of my 9 deadly words.
#8-Whatever... I think the word itself is pretty clear. "F-You". It's just a simpler way to say it and it doesnt sound as bad.
#9- Don't worry about it, I got it.... Of course this is going to be a deadly phrase! If a man says and agrees that he will do something, but takes days to do it.. of course we are going to get pissed off and say, "Dont worry about it, I got it." So, to make it easier, if you say you will do something, DO IT!
I have started to think to myself, why are we (women) so complicated? And it brings me to the answer: Men are from Mars, and Women are from Venus. (FYI- that book is AMAZING!) We are just from two different worlds. I find men complicated. They do not like to talk about their issues, they like to solve problems on their own, they like "me" time. But I guess we will keep learning and trying to figure out the differences between the two genders.
Anyway, I thought I would write about this because I know every woman has experienced all these phrases at some point in their life. And it made me laugh to see how true and hilarious these phrases are and how men do not understand them, until they are used on them. Once they have experienced the phrases, hopefully they will learn for next time.
